Two people recently set a number of of world records as they travelled across Australia in a wind-powered car.The car, fittingly called the Wind Explorer, is powered by a combination of turbines and kites, that provide energy for a 8 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. The car itself weights just 441 pounds and is made of a lightweight carbon fiber. The cross-continent trip, which lasted 18 days and spanned over 3,000 miles, was both the first time a wind-powered car has crossed a continent and the longest trip ever for such a vehicle.It wasn’t all easy though.
