Anirban Lahiri becomes first Indian golf player to qualify for President’s Cup: All you need to know

first_imgAnirban Lahiri became the first Indian golfer to qualify for the Presidents Cup team which will be played in October 2015. Thongchai Jaidee also became the first golfer to qualify from Thailand and both players, Anirban and Thongchai expressed their delight after getting selected. The International team was selected at the end of 2015 Deutsche Bank Championship and the top 10 players in the official World ranking are further promoted.Presidents Cup was created and is organised by PGA Tour. The Cup is held in every two years. Presidents Cup is played between the United States of America against an International team which is formed by players from all over the world except Europe. This year, the Cup will be played at Jack Niklaus Golf Club Korea in Incheon, South Korea. This is the first time when Presidents Cup is being played in Asia. The International team has just won once in the ten tournaments, in 1998. Later, in 2003, there was a tie between the United States and the International team.
